Dr. Gupta is board-certified in Pediatric Gastroenterology/Hepatology/Nutrition. His clinical and research interests include eosinophilic gastrointestinal diseases, esophageal diseases such as eosinophilic esophagitis and gastroesophageal reflux, infant and childhood nutrition, and pediatric obesity. He is involved with various multi-center research groups and collaborations including serving as site-PI for a NIH-funded consortium, CEGIR.

He is committed to medical education and recognized with medical education awards at Indiana University. He is dedicated to the mentoring and development of medical workforce and learners.

As of January 2021, he is Editor-in-Chief of the premier global journal in his specialty, Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition. His hobbies include historical travel, yoga, running and spending time with his family. Along with his family he enjoys empowering others and promoting healthy eating and living practices in children.
